Meet Stacie . . .

I have been practicing various styles of yoga since 1995 and have been teaching yoga since 2001. In 2002, I discovered Bikram Yoga while in Aspen and knew immediately that I wanted to teach it. I left my corporate job in the telecommunications industry in 2002, and in the spring of 2003, I became a certified Bikram Yoga instructor. I now teach full-time.


As a lover of outdoor activities like hiking, sailing and horseback riding and of sports like racquetball, scuba diving, and skiing, I quickly resonated with Bikram’s athletic style of yoga and its therapeutic benefits. I knew this was a style of yoga I could do well into old age and that it would extend my ability to enjoy the activities and sports that I love. In fact, since starting my practice of Bikram Yoga, I have not had any of the painful knee problems I used to continuously experience.


I am passionate about yoga and sharing with others its profound effect on mind, body and spirit. I emphasize the fundamentals of breath, body awareness, and emotional balance, as well as being present, quieting the mind, letting go of judgments and overcoming self-imposed limits. One of my most fulfilling moments as a teacher is when eager students come together in a synergistic fashion and discover something new about themselves.

Meet Susan . . .

Originally from Chicago, I moved to the East Coast in the mid-90s. With a degree in Materials Management from Bloomfield College, I worked for 15 years for Pfizer.


I started practicing Bikram Yoga in March 2009 and was immediately hooked! Inspired by my discovery of Bikram Yoga, I immediately started and successfully completed a 30-Day Challenge. Suddenly, my life took on a whole new meaning. One year later, I decided to attend Teacher Training and graduated in June 2010. Practicing Bikram Yoga is one of the nicest and most rewarding things you'll ever do for yourself!


I continue to practice at least 3-4 days a week, and find that a consistent practice makes me a better teacher, and teaching makes me a better student. I am honored to be a part of the Bikram Yoga Cedar Knolls community.

Jessie Rodriguez
I was introduced to Bikram Yoga in 2006 by a colleague after a plantar fascia injury. She conveyed her personal BY experience to me, and mentioned that I wouldn’t be able to take a class more than once a week. After recuperating from plantar fasciitis from years of running, I was up for the challenge. During my intro week I made it to class no less than three times. Soon thereafter, I purchased my first of many unlimited monthly package and only took off on Sundays. Needless to say, I was hooked. A few months later I attended the 2007 Bikram Yoga Teacher Spring Training in Hawaii and became a certified BY teacher. Today I enjoy practicing as often as I can, including visiting different studios while traveling for work or on vacation.

After many hamstring injuries, torn calf muscles and weakened knees from years of running, I knew I needed to find an activity that would enable me to get a strong cardio workout without creating high impact on my body.


I started my Bikram Yoga journey in Colorado. I took my first class reluctantly, as I hadn’t been very impressed with other yoga classes I had taken, nor did I think of myself as the "yoga type." By the end of my first class, my reluctance had melted away, and I knew immediately that I had found what I had been looking for. After my first week, I knew I was hooked. I recognized immediately that the specific health benefits that would be long lasting. Having done most every form of exercise out there, I knew this was one I would and could continue to do forever." The next six months of practicing, with Grace Tung as my main instructor and true inspiration, led me to the realization that I needed to become a Bikram Yoga Teacher to enable others to find what I had found. It was this realization that brought me to the Bikram Yoga Training in the Spring of 2006. I am thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to teach, as well as witness the transformations in my students that I recognized in myself through the practice of Bikram Yoga.
